Beyond the Tech: My Journey from AMI to IFF 2026

By Olivier Byiringiro • Kigali, Rwanda

Walking into the Kigali Convention Centre for the Inclusive FinTech Forum 2026, I felt a deep sense of responsibility. I wasn’t just there as the Founder of Seruka Travel Tech; I was there as a student of growth, representing the African Management Institute (AMI).

Preparation Meets Opportunity

For the past month, I have been immersed in AMI’s "Beyond Incubation" program. It wasn’t just about spreadsheets or business models; it was about the heart of leadership. It taught me how to escalate Seruka from a startup into a sustainable pillar of African travel infrastructure.

"Scaling a business is not just about moving faster—it's about building a foundation that can carry the weight of your dreams."
The Masterclass Moment

One of the most profound moments of the forum was being honored to attend the Masterclass led by Amon Munyaneza. His insights on strategic scaling and regional integration felt like the missing puzzle piece for Seruka’s roadmap. It was a reminder that in the world of FinTech and Travel, our greatest asset isn't our code—it's our people and our clarity of purpose.

Moving Forward

As I reflect on the discussions at IFF 2026, I see a Rwanda that is ready to lead. At Seruka, we are taking the lessons from AMI and the inspiration from leaders like Amon to ensure that every booking we facilitate is a step toward a more connected, inclusive Africa.

We are no longer just dreaming of the future. We are building it, one milestone at a time.
